SCRIPTURE:
V1 Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.
V2 This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair. 3 So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.” 4 When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”

Partoral Reflection
Yesterday, after dinner, I was craving for something sweet. We know that sweet things with sugar are not good for your health, but when you feel like something sweet, we often give in. Our excuse is that we are not going to eat sweet stuff everyday. But the problem develops when we open ourselves to eat just once and it ends up being more and more. Sweet things are addictive in that the more we have, the more we crave. This is like sin. Once we open up a little, it keeps wanting more and more. We need self control to control our sweet intake as well as self control to keep sin away from us. This is why Jesus says in Matthew 26:41, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” So we are to watch, be alert and pray so that we will be self controlled to keep sin out of our lives.
The Clergy
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." This verse offers reassurance and encouragement, reminding individuals that God is present, powerful, and supportive during times of fear and difficulty.
