SUNDAY SERVICE LIVE

SCRIPTURE:

V1 After the king was settled in his palace and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies around him, 2 he said to Nathan the prophet, “Here I am, living in a palace of cedar, while the ark of God remains in a tent.”

V4 That night the word of the LORD came to Nathan saying, “Go and tell my servant David, 6 “I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt to this day. I have been moving from place to place with a tent as my dwelling. V8 “Now the, tell my servant David, “This is what the LORD Almighty says; I took you from the pasture and from following the flock to be ruler over my people Israel. 9 I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men of the earth. 10 And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning 11 and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel.

Partoral Reflection

As I was looking at cars this week, the most important part I think is the air in the tire. The big fancy machinery all come to nothing when there is no air in the tires. It becomes a big piece of metal unless there is air in the tires so that the car can move and function as a car. Air in the bible is the same word as the Spirit (pnuema= spirit) This hit me that Christians without the Spirit of God is useless. Just as cars need tires with air, we as Christians need the Spirit of God. This is the Holy Spirit. We need to pray that we are continually filled with the Holy Spirit. Just as the tires need to be full of air, we need to be full of the Holy Spirit everyday. Why do we need to pray to be full of the Holy Spirit? As D.L. Moody said, ‘it’s because we leak.’ We need to check our tires to be filled with air and we too need to check ourselves to make sure that we are filled with the Holy Spirit every day.

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." This verse offers reassurance and encouragement, reminding individuals that God is present, powerful, and supportive during times of fear and difficulty.
