SUNDAY SERVICE LIVE
SCRIPTURE:
V17 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over Israel, they went up in full force to search for him, but David heard about it and went down to the stronghold.
V18 Now the Philistines had come and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim; 19 so David inquired of the LORD, “Shall I go and attack the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?” The LORD answered him, “Go, for I will surely hand the Philistines over to you.” V22 Once more the Philistines came up and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim; 23 so David inquired of the LORD, and he answered, “Do not go straight up, but circle around behind them and attack them in front of the balsam trees. V24 As soon as you hear the sound of the marching in the tops of the balsam trees, move quickly, because that will mean the LORD has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army. 25 So David did as the LORD commanded him, and he struck down the Philistines all the way from Gibeon to Gezer.

Partoral Reflection
We see phenomenal and supernatural things described in the Bible. As we read them, it sounds unbelievable. Today, we read about David waiting to attack the Philistines until the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees. (Can you believe this?) God was moving upon the natural world supernaturally to work out His purpose. As one theologian Adam Clarke asked, ‘why don’t we see it today?’ I agree with his answer that it is because we don’t ask, we don’t pray to God to be involved in our lives. We need to inquire, ask and pray to God more everyday so that we will see God’s supernatural hand moving in our lives.
The Clergy
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." This verse offers reassurance and encouragement, reminding individuals that God is present, powerful, and supportive during times of fear and difficulty.
