This past week, due to wildfire in Northern Ontario, we had lots of haze and smoke. At one point, last week, the sun glowed orange and daylight seemed light it was evening. It was a bit creepy that such a thing can happen simply by wildfires burning up in Northern Ontario. It reminded me of the prophecies made in the bible about day time becoming like the night time. Once again, I was humbled by the fact that a natural event can cause such a wide devastation and havoc over millions of people. We can’t control or contain the wildfires. Yet, God can. Trust in God who created the universe and all things in God’s creation, God can handle and control. We just need to learn to trust in God and surrender our lives into God’s hand. Then experience God’s peace, knowing that ‘it is well with my soul.’ (Hymn writer H. Spafford, 1873)
