V1 After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. 2 There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. 3 Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus. 5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” 6 When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. 7 But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said, “Don’t be afraid.”

Partoral Reflection

As we are now into the middle of February, what is noticeable is that the night time is becoming shorter. Every day, the sunset time becomes later so that slowly and little by little, we are getting more day light. This is a great sign as this means Spring is not too far away. Just as we can tell from the increasing of the day light, we can also tell by the signs in the world and nature that the Coming of Jesus is near. Our world has seen most record amount of snowfall this winter and abnormally colder than normal temperature. I believe all of these are signs pointing to the end times when Jesus will return. As we take notice of these changes, I pray that we will also prepare for the Second Coming of Jesus.
